<\/p>\nAs the days wind down, my greatest regret is that I could not capture the most compelling aspects of this journey\u00a0for you. \u00a0The discussion, laughter, and candor\u00a0that often\u00a0occurs only when the camera is turned off.<\/p>\n
Today was no exception. \u00a0I pulled off in Lyman, Wyoming when I caught sight\u00a0of a weathered Cowboy Cafe sign to my right.<\/p>\n

Probably the best representation of a ‘local’ cafe it is\u00a0in possession of the absolute best Green Chile Stew to date. \u00a0This accomplishment just steps away an independent\u00a0gas station and the interstate cannot be overstated. \u00a0It is filled with locals and enjoys a staff that is friendly and connected to this distinctly Wyoming community.<\/p>\n

What I love is that this perfectly captures two\u00a0repeated themes. \u00a0It starts with a dire hyperbole (doomed) and then the top of mind single\u00a0issue (guns) that concerns the speaker and, in this case,\u00a0the community.<\/p>\n
But my favorite part occurred moments later when my camera was placed on the stool beside me. \u00a0Tyra explained the importance of being able to protect yourself in a rural area. \u00a0When the subject turned\u00a0to background checks, gun registration and semi-automatic weapons bans, we were surprisingly in alignment. \u00a0When I mentioned that my understanding was that Hillary did not want to ban guns, but to enact legislation in these three areas, there was a pause.<\/p>\n
