Heaven and Beignets

If you could drive pass this sign at 10:00 in the morning, you are a better person than me,

That Beignet’s have not made their way to California is a disappointment of epic proportions.  This morning, Bebette’s made that all right in my world.  On the day of the last debate, it brought Leslie and a plate of the most wonderful combination of flour, butter, eggs and sugar imaginable,

Please meet Leslie, a local nurse who expresses a hope that was the perfect salve for debate anxiety,

Heaven and Beignets — 8 Comments

  1. Leslie’s hope of the winning candidate to be able “To figure out how to make everyone equal regardless of the color of their skin or sexual orientation or religion…” what a much better world this would be…

  2. The beignets (interesting, that word generated a spell checker error) sound wonderful! I think one of our friends, originally from New Orleans, said there was a place in the south (SF) Bay Area that had them.

Did you watch the debate with others? If you did, I’d be interested in hearing what the reactions from the crowd were.

Leslie, along with the majority of your interviewees, seem to be leaning the same way. Well, actually not leaning toward the same thing, but *away* from the same thing. I don’t know whether your sample could be skewed by the relatively safe path you’re driving, or the kind of people you unconsciously select, but the statistic is nevertheless encouraging.

Gotta go now. With all this Presidential news, I’ve been neglecting the local issues. The book for just the statewide California general election is 223 pages!

  3. I think I want to be best friends with Leslie!! I like her thinking and I would love to share coffee with her! A woman after my own heart!!

  4. Once again, I love what Diane wrote. Could we all have coffee and whatever those beignets are?!!!! Seems like you are finding really cool people to interview. Really liked Derrick’s comments about the awesome people you are interviewing!

  5. If I could give one word for Leslie it would be fabulous. I agree with Diane I want to be best friends with Leslie.
